The Questions to Ask for Guaranteed Fun

Choosing the right day camp for your child is an important decision. Be sure to ask the following questions of any option you are considering:

• Are you accredited by the American Camp Association?
• Is the counselor-to-camper ratio as small as 4-to-1?
• Do you use only Water Safety Instructors to teach swimming?
• Are all of the pools heated?
• Do you hire only experienced group leaders for every age group?
• Do the camp owners spend the entire year planning only for day camp?
• Do older children get to leave camp regularly on special trips and activities?
• Do you have a teen travel program when my child is ready?
• Do you have a Leaders-in-Training program if my child becomes interested, as a preparation for a junior counselor position?
• Do you have 2 licensed registered nurse on-site all day long?
• Do you have a separate facility, with age appropriate equipment, for younger kids?
• Do you use only licensed, fully trained professional bus drivers?
• Are all of the camp buses and vans air conditioned?
• Do you offer Tutoring service for math and reading?
• Do you offer an optional Horseback riding program?
• Do you have extended hours as early as 7 AM and as late as 6 PM?
• Do you provide a hot lunch and snack daily?
