Preschool and Lower Division
Campers 3 to 6 years old are involved in programs 3 or 5
days from 9-4, under the experienced direction of Janis Ventre. Monica Tobio is
the group leader for all Full Day Campers entering First grade campers attend for 5 full days. Counselors
are carefully selected for these groups and are aware campers' emotional, physical and social needs.
Lower Division campers learn age appropriate skills under the guide of
our talented specialists. All facilities are in easy reach of Lower Division campers, including our heated pools and all sports' fields.
We keep campers cool as most of Creative and Performing Arts programs are in air-conditioned buildings. Parents are kept
informed to their child's progress through our Ivy Grams, Swim Reports and Newsletters.
Middle Division
Campers entering 2nd through 3rd Grade comprise IL's Middle Division under the leadership of Sharon Katzanek. Boys and girl campers are in separate groups with 3 counselors and a 10th grade LIT (Leader In Training) in each group. At this level campers are offered choice in their program twice a day (See choice options below). Swim instruction is individualized and is offered in 1 of our 5-heated pool. Red Cross-trained Water Safety Instructors provide expert learning experiences for campers. An afternoon swim allows campers to have fun in our aquatic complex including safe, enclosed water slides, fabulous Fun Car Wash and cannon ball slide. All Athletic, Performing and Creative Arts are taught by a team of specialists who incorporate BIG LEAGUE FUN into the campers' skill development.
Upper Division
4th and 5th grade campers
continue with the same philosophy of structure, choice and
fun programming. Jeff Sheiner and his counselor staff understand the developmental
needs of these campers. Athletic and Aquatic skills continue to grow and Upper Division campers will
use facilities that are larger in scale, although still meet individual needs. Big League Games is
an important part of the Upper Division's camp experience, where tennis, hockey, softball, soccer
and basketball skills are set into motion 2 times during the Summer in an organized and fun filled
teams. Upper Division campers venture out of camp
4 times during the summer to such cool places as a professional baseball games, indoor sports
complex, bowling and the Franklin Institute. They also get to be featured in the camp play if they
elect to do so.
